Frequently asked questions
How do I register for a class?
Will I get licensed at your school?
Cosmetology and Nail Technology programs provide hours for students to sit for Cosmetology or Nail Tech exams in Maryland. Makeup Artistry is a certification and no longer a license. We do not give the license directly, but the credentials are obtained from our training and forwarded to the State Board of Cosmetologists.
Is your school accredited?
Our programs are approved by the Maryland State Board of Cosmetologists and Maryland Higher Education Commission to provide clock hours to take the state licensure. CLICK HERE to verify.
How much are the programs at your school?
To give you the most up to date information on cost, class schedules and requirements, complete this contact form.
If I register now, can I transfer to a later start date?
Absolutely! We understand life happens. We are here to support you. Get in touch with us to adjust your account.
Can I just take a class to learn acrylic?
Acrylic and other beauty chemicals are regulated by the state of MD for practice in approved school programs. You may register for a program or participate with available continuing education classes (if you are licensed and need more support). Graduates from other beauty schools will be allowed to participate in continuing education if they can provide documentation of enrollement. We are a compliance school and do not teach chemicals to non-licensed, or non-student public members.
When is the last day to register for a class?
Registration for classes are accepted up to 30 days before the class start. However, some classes fill up quicker than others so we recommend registering as soon as you can to guarantee your seat. If seats are still available after 30 days, seats will be fill up until the day before the start date.
When do I get my kit?
Can I buy a kit?
Unfortunately, student kits are not for public sale. We do have a limited retail store online and in school. Please note regulated items are limited to licensed professionals with a valid beauty license and current students only. All other orders will be canceled.
How do I pay for school?
At this time, we accept cash, money orders, cashier credits, credit payments, payment plans until the last day of class, scholarships, grants and personal loans sent to us on behalf of students.
